When You Have to Give Up Your Pet....
No one likes to think about it, but sometimes we have to give up our pets. It may be due to a change in living situations, a new baby, allergies, relocation, illness or death or any number of reasons.
To help pet owners, The Hinsdale Humane Society provides an owner surrender service for people who are unable to keep their pets. There is a $50.00 surrender fee to help cover costs, such as food, medical care, shelter care and fresh bedding and toys.
All efforts are made to make the transition process as comfortable for the pet as possible. HHS Staff and volunteers are trained to comfort and care for pets during this period of change. All animals are evaluated by our medical and behavioral experts for our adoption program. This allows us to make the best possible adoption match.
