Become A Volunteer
The first step in becoming an HHS volunteer is to submit an application through our volunteer software, Sustain. In doing so, you are creating an account so you can access our volunteer portal! Follow the steps detailed in your welcome email to attend orientation. After orientation, you’ll be able to self sign up for training sessions in your chosen areas through the ‘Volunteer Onboarding’ program.
Volunteers Opportunities
• Volunteering at our facility (feeding pets, walking dogs, cleaning kennels, laundry/dishes, socializing with pets, administrative assistance and guest services)
• Adoption support
• Community support at our partnering
• Pet Pantries
• Surgery transportation
• Kitten/dog handling at adoption events
• Dog walking or cat socialization
• Working with children through our Humane Education Program
What
to Expect
- We ask that you submit your volunteer fee within 24 hours of attending orientation.
- Please be available to volunteer at least two shifts every month.
- All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, and are required to attend an orientation and training.
- If you are looking for community service volunteering opportunities, inquire with [email protected] prior to submitting an application. Please include paperwork indicating why hours were assigned. Community service opportunities may be available for those looking into completing court appointed hours. Certain charges may not be accepted.
