Empowering the Next Generation of Animal Advocates

The Hinsdale Humane Society Junior Board is a dynamic group of dedicated high school students who are passionate about making a difference for animals in need. Junior Board members plan and lead fundraisers, host engaging events, and help promote our adoptable pets and humane education programs throughout the community.

Who Can Join?

To be eligible for the Junior Board, students must:

  • Be in high school (grades 9–12)
  • Have completed at least 12 volunteer hours at HHS through any of the following:

•⁠ Animal Advocates Academy
•⁠ Pawsitive Impact
•⁠ Teenternships
•⁠ Other approved volunteer opportunities

Member Expectations

Junior Board members are leaders and role models at HHS. To remain in good standing, members must:

  • Attend at least two-thirds of the board’s twice-monthly meetings
  • Continue to volunteer at HHS for a minimum of 4 hours per month
  • Actively participate in at least 5 Junior Board events during the school year
  • There is a $25 annual program fee, payable at your first board meeting of the school year.
